Artie rolled through the halls, glancing around with a wince. That was the 11th football player he had seen with a slushie today. Each one faked him out, pretending to throw it on him, but each moving along. He had thought after sectionals they might get a little more respect, but it turned out he was wrong. On the one day he forgot his poncho there seemed to be a slush for each of them. He just hadn’t found his yet, or the jock hadn’t found him. He was pretty hard to miss though. And he was better off than some though, having glasses to keep the corn syrup out of his eyes. But with his medium hair it could take a long time to wring it all out.
Artie rounded the corner and there he saw a hockey player with a grape big slush and a smirk on his face. They had been waiting for him right by his locker. He tired turning around to go the other way, but there was a wall of his team mates blocking the escape. The hockey player with the slush tossed it and right on target, the drink was on Artie’s head and beginning to run down his back. “See you same time here tomorrow loser. And the next day and the day after” The Jock said as he walked away, laughing and high fiving with his friends.
Artie changed his course of direction. He no longer planned a locker trip, but was going to the glee room to see who could help him clean up. It was quite a bit harder for him to do it solo with his condition and all. He could just imagine that everyone else was in the same boat he was, since there had been 11 other slushies going around. He was about halfway there when he heard his name being called and a shiver ran down his spine, and not from the slushie.

Today was Sue’s first day back after her two week ‘vacation’. She was ready to ruin Will’s life and everything in her path. She walked out of the teachers lounge with her unsweetened cinnamon light soy latte and took a sip before turning the corner. There were children everywhere, some at lockers, some making out, and others causing trouble. Sue walked down the hallway and everyone parted for her. They didn’t dare get in her way. She made sure not to make eye contact with any of them. She just continued walking. She passed a group of Cheerios, “Hi Coach Sylvester, it’s good to-” She heard one of them start to say but she was already gone. Everyone knew that Sue’s favorites were Brittany and Santana but she had just recently decided they weren’t anymore. Now all of the Cheerios wanted to be her favorites and she would find someone, just not right now. She had other plans and she wasn’t exactly sure who she could trust. Quinn had been her number one but she went off and got pregnant. Then Santana, but she had chosen Glee club over her. And then there was Brittany, to stupid to do anything correctly. Then it hit her. She knew what she needed, it wasn’t a Cheerio she needed to spy for her...she needed someone else. A person who could be on the inside and no one would know that they had a connection to her. The bell had now rung and there was still some children in the hallways: either ditching, running to class, or just taking their time to get there. She didn’t care if they went to class or not. That was when she felt it. She froze and looked down at her white sneakers; they had purple goop all over them. Slushie. Someone had been hit by a slushie and left a trail, she followed the trail so she could find that person and yell at them. As she turned another corner she could see who was leaving a trail of corn syrup. It was one of the Glee boys, and on any given day she would have loved to put one of them in detention but not this boy. It was Artie, though he probably didn’t know she even knew his name since she never called any of ‘them’ by name. This was who she needed. A helpless child. “Wheels!” She called, walking past him not even bothering to look down at him. “My office. Now.” Status//Done! Tag//Wheels! Word Count//419! Notes//Hope it’s okay!

Artie looked up as Ms Sylvester passed by and requested him in her office. Looked like cleaning up would have to wait. He wondered why he, of all people, would be brought into her office though. Unless it was a punishment to get off Glee. His thoughts drifted back to the cheerios’ copier that Finn had used and trashed. Maybe he was going to be blamed for that? But he had a good alibi and 13 other witnesses who could vouch for where he was. At sectionals running himself into a wall and figuring they had no chance. He was mistaken when they brought home the trophy. This was a time when he didn’t mind being wrong though. Finn had come and saved the day.
Artie rolled into Ms Sylvester’s office and glanced around at all the trophies she had on the wall. He had heard they were champions, and they looked so well taken care of. Ms Sylvester must have taken pride in those and dusted them at least one per day. He parked himself on the student side of the desk and looked down at his feet, which were still dripping with slush. Oh what he wouldn’t give to have a friend here by his side instead of facing this alone. Ms Sylvester intimidated him, but she had got ramps for the school, which was a sign of generosity. But then what she did with the set lists and how she had gotten Mr Shue in trouble were bad on her record. Sue Sylvester was just hard to figure out, though Artie tried to see the best in everyone. Maybe if he showed respect and was nice to her she would return the favour. “I n-n-never got a chance to thank you for the ramps Ms Sylvester. It really helps rather than the football guys having to lug me everywhere there are stairs” Artie said quietly, looking up and smiling a bit.

Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Artie looking up at her nervously. After she passed him she couldn’t help but smile a little. She knew Artie couldn’t see her but he looked so worried that it just pleased her. Not having a snoop in the Glee group that she could rely on was hard, she needed someone who could find out what was going on for her. But this person had to be someone who wouldn’t know they were helping her...that wouldn’t know what they were doing. A vulnerable child. A child...well...like Artie. She put back on her serious face as she opened her office door. It swung all the way open, so she knew Artie would be able to get through the door without any problem. She walked right over to her desk and set down her latte before examining her shoes.
“You owe me a new pair of sneakers...I’m a size 8 and a half.” She said blunty before walking back over to shut the door tightly. She smiled a little, this was going to be fun. She went over to the side table next to her desk that had different types of tea, a coffee pot, and a pot of hot chocolate. “I n-n-never got a chance to thank you for the ramps Ms Sylvester. It really helps rather than the football guys having to lug me everywhere there are stairs” Artie said. She glanced over at him for the first time and made eye contact. He seemed incredibly grateful to her even though she had leaked the set list. Some emotion flickered across her face but she quickly put back on the mask that hid her true emotions so well.“Well Artie.” She said turning back to the hot chocolate pot and filling up a cup of it. “Sometimes friends need to help other friends out and thats what we are...right Artie? We are friends?” She questioned, smiling at him with that fake smile that she smiled so very often...it actually seemed real.
She came back over to her desk and sat down. She placed the cup of hot chocolate in front of Artie, just close enough so he could reach it. “I never got to congratulate you on winning sectionals. I wasn’t there but I heard you...children...were stupendous.” She said. She needed to make this young child like and trust her. She took another sip of her burning hot latte before placing it back down on the desk in front of her. Status//Done!
